The 2026 “She Builds Peace” campaign aimed to highlight the aspirations of young women and men and their role in building social peace in Syria, amid the transformations taking place in the country during the current transitional phase and the challenges accompanying them, including rising tensions.
The campaign focused on understanding young women’s and men’s perspectives on the nature of conflicts and transitional justice mechanisms, and exploring how these perspectives can contribute to strengthening social peace and building a more just and inclusive peace. It also sought to document these perspectives and translate them into a policy paper reflecting the voices and priorities of young women and men, supporting their communication to relevant stakeholders and civil society organizations.
The “She Builds Peace” campaign is part of the global efforts led by the Women’s Alliance for Security and Leadership (WASL) to strengthen women’s role in peacebuilding processes. Zenobia for the Syrian Family continues its annual participation in the campaign as part of its ongoing efforts to promote women’s and youth participation in peacebuilding and social cohesion in Syria.
