Gender Sensitive Transitional Justice

In cooperation with a group of Syrian women’s organizations, a gender-sensitive transitional justice project was implemented

Through a series of workshops and focused group discussions, the outputs of which were collected and included in policy briefs that would advocate for women’s issues in an attempt to achieve comprehensive transitional justice that takes into account gender differences and focuses on male and female victims and survivors and the most affected groups by the dispute.

A wide segment of Syrian refugee women and families at various social and cultural levels were targeted through two campaigns to advocate for policy papers:

1- Sexual violence by force of arms in Syria against women is one of the tools of political oppression and the further dismantling and impoverishment of communities and women.

2- The human rights of women in Syria between the trinity of the discriminatory law, patriarchal culture, and the economic policies of the regime.
