“Feminist Movement for Change in Syria” Project

As part of its commitment to empowering women and enhancing the stability of Syrian families, Zenobia Organization implemented the “Feminist Movement for Change in Syria” project with the support of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) between 2021 and 2025. The project targeted northern Syria and the city of Gaziantep, Turkey.

The project aimed to support women’s issues and strengthen their active participation in society. It contributed to the sustainability of the organization and the development of its work divisions and staff capacities, enabling it to continue providing humanitarian, social, and environmental services.

The project particularly focused on empowering women by increasing their awareness and capabilities in areas such as peacebuilding, community stability, public participation, climate justice advocacy, rights, and health. This was achieved through a variety of activities, including training sessions, dialogue forums, awareness sessions, advocacy campaigns, and field visits to relevant stakeholders to foster cooperation.

Additionally, Zenobia Organization played a significant role in responding to the 2023 earthquake that struck northern Syria and Turkey. It provided psychological, social, and humanitarian aid to the affected populations, with special attention to women and the most impacted families.
