Within the framework of the “Building Peace and Protecting the Environment in Al-Bab City” project, the Zenobia Syrian Women’s Association has carried out a series of community initiatives to support climate justice and address the impacts of climate change, which particularly affect women. These initiatives aim to enhance the role of Syrian women in peacebuilding and activate community participation to mitigate the effects of environmental pollution in the region.
As part of these efforts, the association launched four community initiatives led by the Peacebuilders team. Three of these were led by young women, and the other by young men. These initiatives focus on highlighting the role of women in achieving climate justice and raising awareness of harmful environmental behaviors and issues that negatively impact both the environment and women. They also address key sectors such as agriculture, waste management, community awareness, and media.
