The Zenobia Association, along with its Peacebuilder Women/Men team, implemented the “Seed of Peace” initiative in the Al-Bab area in northern Syria. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental preservation and highlighted the significant impact of climate change on women and children. It also emphasized the active role of women in planting the seeds of peace in their communities by promoting positive environmental practices and contributing to climate justice, which is closely linked to social justice.
The initiative included the installation of 50 roadside signs to encourage positive environmental behaviors and organized a collective breakfast for 230 sanitation workers (Friends of the Environment) in appreciation of their efforts and to raise awareness of their vital role in society and environmental protection. Additionally, the initiative involved visits to local stakeholders interested in environmental issues and the distribution of 500 awareness stickers in key locations such as mosques and schools to increase awareness about the importance of protecting the environment from climate change.
