Community Initiatives within the “Together for a Stable Society” Project

As part of the “Together for a Stable Society” project, supported by International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN), Zenobia Organization implemented six community initiatives in 2025. These initiatives were led by young women and men who had been trained and qualified through the project’s training program as Peacebuilders. Under the supervision of Zenobia, they received specialized training in mediation skills, conflict resolution, dialogue facilitation, and community leadership. The initiatives focused on strengthening social cohesion, addressing the impacts of conflict, and supporting marginalized groups in northern Syria.

The initiatives were marked by their innovative nature and their direct responsiveness to the needs of communities in the post-conflict phase. They demonstrated how local communities, led by their youth, can play a pivotal role in promoting social stability amidst political transitions. These initiatives embodied the shift from knowledge to action, and from training to direct impact. The project succeeded in transforming challenges into opportunities and in giving marginalized groups a voice and space to take initiative—at a time when Syrian society needed it the most.
