WOMEN IN NORTHERN SYRIA: EXPERIENCES AND CHALLENGES

With the aim of reviewing the experiences and challenges of Syrian women inside Syria on the issue of peacebuilding, Zenobia Association for Syrian Women and Families has conducted an open dialogue session, hosting Mrs. Ahlam Al-Rasheed, Director of Protection and Empowerment Centers for Women in several international organizations/Director of the Asaa Humanitarian Forum in Atma in Northern Syria, which was chosen among the 100 most influential women in the world. The session dealt with several interactive dialogues about the reality of women in the north of Syria and the expected roles, and the role of active women in building and making peace. A section of the session touched upon the importance of the complementary relationship between women inside Syria and the diaspora in order to build peace in Syria.
