THE ACTIVITIES OF THE 20 TH ANNIVERSARY OF RESOLUTION 1325

The Syrian woman has suffered the consequences of the nine-year-old war, and she has paid dearly for loss, displacement, poverty, violence, and violations that were practiced against her, which made her keen to work to stop the war and build peace in Syria.

As civil society organizations, we now take our role and stand towards our refugee families in Gaziantep province to provide all awareness support of issues related to the constitution, its importance, and its connection with the current Syrian situation. In addition to raising awareness of the decision issued by the United Nations Security Council 1325 which calls for increasing the percentage of women’s representation at all levels of decision-making to be able to participate actively in conflict prevention and decision-making mechanisms in the times of peace.

On the twentieth anniversary of launching Resolution 1325, Zenobia Association for Syrian Women held three awareness sessions for various groups and segments of refugee women in the states of Gaziantep and Urfa. Where the first session was attended by social influencer women who work in Zenobia Association in the states of Gaziantep and Urfa on October 19, 2020, through a physical meeting of societal influencers in Gaziantep. With a full commitment to all safety measures and social distancing, simultaneously joined by Some community influencers via Zoom platform from Urfa, this session was presented by the specialist, lawyer, activist, the human rights defender, a member of the Free Syrian Lawyers Network in Turkey, and the volunteer in the Zenobia Association, Professor.
