On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Zenobia Association for Women has launched a campaign to raise awareness and promote education regarding the plight of Syrian refugees in the wake of a devastating earthquake. The worsening political situation has further undermined prospects for peace in Syria. The campaign, titled “Green Sweater ID,” aims to highlight the ongoing suffering of refugees and the loss of Syrian identity resulting from years of conflict.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the 21st century, it is a message to the civilized world that a young Syrian girl was buried with a tombstone reading “Unidentified Girl Wearing a Green Sweater.” As Syrians, we are all anonymous today, both above and below the soil, having lost our identities as a result of the wars and their continuation.
